Valdes Peninsula

The Valdez Peninsula was declared a natural World heritage since 1999 by UNESCO.  The southern right whale comes to this area from June to December, to feed, mate, give birth and nurse.  They are commonly seen from whale watching boats that depart from Puerto Madryn.

Punta Delgada is an area where one can see elephant seals and sea lions, as well as many species of birds, amongst which it is possible to observe the famous Reas.  Down in the south one can visit a Magellanic Penguin colony in Punta Tombo.
