Upon arrival to El Dorado airport in Bogotá you will have a transfer to your hotel, located in the historical district of La Candelaria.

You will visit the impressive Zipaquira Salt Cathedral; a true achievement of engineering. The name Zipaquirá refers to Zipa, the leader of the Muisca tribe and the chief of these rich salt mines.

You will arrive to Cartagena in the morning to start your tour with a panoramic view of the city from the “Monasterio and Iglesia de La Popa”; a church famous for resembling the stern of a galleon. Then you will continue on to the “Ciudad Vieja” (old city) to visit the Convent and Church of San Pedro Claver which was built in the middle of the XVII century and owes its name to the “apóstol de los esclavos” (the slaves apostol).

Next day you will board your flight to Medellin.

Drive from Medellin to the town of Guatapé in order to visit the enormous rock –possibly a meteorite due to its size– “el Peñón”. You can walk to the top to observe a stunning view of the whole Guatepé reservation.

Free day in Medellin to enjoy the city on your own. In the afternoon you will take your flight to Quito.

During these four days adventure you will be able to appreciate the richest nature reserve of Ecuador concerning wildlife and primary forest, the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve. It has an elaborate system of wild lagoons, rivers and flooded forest. You will participate in a variety of activities: bird watching, rainforest walks in search of wildlife (tracking of ocelots, capybaras, armadillos, anacondas, ant colonies, and more) and exotic plants, excursions to some smaller lakes for some piranha fishing, listening to the song of birds like the scarlet macaw and the cacique, and nocturnal excursions to spot the red gleaming eyes of the caimans and other night animals.

At the end of your stay you will have your flight back to the Quito.

Your guide will drive you across the Andes to Papallacta Thermal Springs, located in the high cloud forest in the Eastern side of the Andes at 11000 ft / 3350 m of altitude. The main attractions are the thermal springs, where you can enjoy sitting and relaxing in the hot pools, and the nature walk that will allow you to experience the Ecuadorian paramo.

In Otavalo you will be able to visit the main square of the city where the local indigenous people are selling their handy crafts. It is a fantastic place for photography, shopping and cultural interactions.

Your guide will take you to the Quilotoa Lagoon, an amazing emerald lagoon inside a crater, located at the height of 12467 ft / 3800 m. As you drive to Quilotoa you will have fantastic views of the Andean mountains, passing the ancient canyon of Zumbahua and many indigenous towns and farmlands.

The trail begins from the Hosteria Papagayo and heads toward the many volcanoes in the area such as Corazon and the Illinizas. From the trail you will have great views of the famous Cotopaxi Volcano and the Glacier picks of Rumiñahui.

Inside the national park you will be able to hike up to the refuge, which is situated at 16000 ft / 4800 m on the Cotopaxi snowline. Depending on conditions, you will have the option to hike up to 16400 ft / 5000 m where you may see the glacier or the option to descend the mountain on mountain bikes.

In the morning you will have a bike tour down the road to Puyo. On route you will arrive at Ecuador’s longest cable car, see the waterfalls of “Agoyan”, “Manto de la Novia”, and “San Jorge”. At the end you will do a small walk to “El Pailón del Diablo” waterfall; a surprising drop of water of about 100 meters high.

Overnight: La Quinta de Alausi

Early in the morning you will go to the small town of Alausi. At the railway station you will board the train for the most exciting stretch of the train route: the descent from Alausi to Sibambe with the ravines of “Nariz del Diablo” ( The Devil’s Nose). A series of zigzags by the steep mountainside make this descent possible.

Overnight: stay in Cuenca city, at the Hotel Carvalo

You will visit several important historical places in this city. For instance you will visit San Sebastian, a picturesque and traditional neighborhood of Cuenca which houses the Modern Art Museum where the famous International Biennial of Painting takes place permanently. You will also visit the Calderon Park (Central Park), the Flower Plaza and the Church “del Carmen”, and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception; considered to be one of the biggest churches in Latin America.

It’s the perfect place to go for a hike and enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna. The highlights of this tour are the Toreadora Lake, one of the biggest in the National Park, and the amazing view from Tres Cruces and the landscape surrounding the United Lakes.

In the night you will continue your travels to the city of Guayaquil.

Free day to explore around and see the main attractions of the city of Guayaquil. Hosting one of Ecuador’s largest architectural projects, the Malecon 2000, a group of botanic gardens and a historic park that holds a museum reproducing a XIX century suburb.

You will have the option to take a boat from Puerto Lopez that will take you to”“Isla de la Plata”. On the island, there is great diversity of animal species: red-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, the South American sea lion and the tropical spotted dolphin. You might also spot one of the smallest species of hummingbirds.

Los Frailes is a remote beach located in the dry zone of its National Park. It’s nature in all its glory. We recommend that you bring lots of water, sunscreen and some snacks.

You will board your flight to Quito on the next day.

These two days you will visit the colonial temples and monasteries of this urban jewel, designated by UNESCO a World Heritage Site. You will also visit the Independence Square, flanked by the Cathedral, the Presidential Palace, the Municipal Building and the Archbishop’s Palace.

You will board your flight to Lima on the next day.

Overnight: Casona de la Ronda

You will arrive to Lima in the morning. This city is the capital and the largest city of Peru. It is located in the valleys of the Chillón, Rímac and Lurín rivers, in the central part of the country, on a desert coast overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

You will see classic historical sights, colonial and Inca influenced architecture, residential neighborhoods, beautiful shrines, churches and incredible panoramic seascapes.

You will travel to cusco on the next day.

You will have a city tour of Cusco where you can appreciate the mixed Incan and Colonial, of Spanish Influence, architecture.

Then you will head to Coricancha, the main church of the city of Cusco. An imposing architectural edifice owned by the Dominican order, who built their monastery on and around the Incan temples of the moon and the sun.

Later that same day you will go to Sacsayhuaman, a huge ancient fortress, which dominates the city and may have been Cusco’s main fortification. It sits on a hill with an excellent overview of the city of Cusco.

In the morning you will depart towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

The first stop will be in the small Inca City of Chincheros, a village that is still occupied by the native people of the area. They keep their traditions and way of living with pride.

Then you will continue to the Moray Archaeological Site for a short stop. This place offers a view of circular terraces arranged like an amphitheater, where the Incas had agricultural experiments. Each terrace has a different climate: you can observe the tropics on the lowest terrace and the tundra on the highest one.

Before lunch you will hike down the valley by foot visiting the Salt mines of Maras, salt mines where salt is collected in terraces, very much like the agricultural terraces of the Incas.

In Pisac, known for its market and terraces, you will explore trails of various levels of difficulty, great for wandering and hiking.

Later you will visit the town of Ollantaytambo, known for its Inca Architecture and for being an incredible fort. The ruins on the hilltop are some of the finest Inca masonry.

Wander around in this ancient city. For some historians, Machu Picchu was a sacred place, isolated from most of the common people, where only the virgins of the sun could live. The Inca Emperor would go there occasionally for special celebrations or for a retreat. According to other historians and more recent theory, Machu Picchu was an Agricultural University for the Incas.

Overnight: El Mapi

You will go back to Cusco by train and at mid-day you will have a transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima, and from there, your upcoming flight home or to your next destination.
