A world within a world, all the climatic regions that exist the different latitudes between  the poles may be found in this small country. Known as a mega-biodiversity hotspot, continental Ecuador may be divided into three distinct regions.


The highlands of the Andes mountain range that runs North – South through the entire country, with peaks over 20 000 ft / 6000 m, many of which are active volcanoes.


The Amazon Rainforest is a vast pristine jungle habitat that is home to thousands of species of flora and flora as well as nine indigenous populations. The Pacific coast that boasts a lush tropical climate to the north and a unique dry forest to the south.

Known also as the fourth or insular region of Ecuador, these islands are the “jewel in the crown” and one of the great natural wonders of the World.


Volcanic in origin, their natural history has never ceased to cause wonder amongst scientists and visitors alike. Often described as a living laboratory of evolution, many of the species of plants and animals both on land and underwater are like none others found on Earth…
