Overnight: Hotel Sofitel Victoria Regia

Half day visit to the historic center known as La Candelaria. This antiquated barrio is of great architectural and cultural heritage and is made up of old “stately homes” or large Spanish colonial buildings. Visit the Plaza de Bolivar, where a statue of the great liberator Simon Bolivar is located. In the Plaza you can visit the Cathedral and the Capilla del Sagrario and the Capitol. The visit continues with the Museo Botero, a colonial house filled with works of art done by and donated by Fernando Botero in addition to his personal collection; pieces by Picasso, Renoir, Matisse, Monet and Giacometti. Next is the Museo del Oro which has a permanent exhibition of some 32,000 pieces of gold, 20,000 stones, ceramics and textiles all precious to the various Colombian cultures. End the visit in the Santuario de Monserrate, a symbol of Bogotá. Ride the cable car or funicular up to it, at 500 mts above Bogotá.

Transfer to airport
Upon arrival to the Medellin airport a representative will be waiting for you to offer you the transfer to Hotel Park 10; designed to resemble an English house the Hotel Park 10 is decorated with wood, marble and stained glass.
After lunch you will have a half day tour to visit those places that best represent the social transformation that has taken place in Medellín city.
You’ll visit the Parque San Antonio and the Museum of Antioquia. Moving on to the Plazuela de San Ignacio. It is surrounded by the San Ignacio building, which houses the Universidad de Antioquia’s history department, and the baroque San Ignacio church, a mix of neoclassical and gothic. Then you’ll move onto the Parque de los Pies Descalzos which was inspired by oriental philosophy, designed to ease people into a state of relaxation. The visit continues with a trip on the metrocable cable car system that connects the centre of the city to outlying and formerly difficult to reach mountainous suburbs.
Upon returning to the centre of the city you proceed to the Nutibara hill and enjoy views of the city from an alternate angle as well as a reproduction of a typical “paisa” village.

Leave Medellín and continue to the town of Guatapé in order to visit the enormous rock. Guatapé is located in the outskirts of Medellín and has a reservoir created by the Colombian government for a hydroelectric dam, in the middle of the reservoir is the Peñol Rock which is possibly a meteorite due to its size. Then visit the picturesque village of Guatapé where all of the houses are painted in quaint pastel colours.
The way to El Peñol takes about two hours, during which passengers can appreciate the outstanding landscape of Antioquia; there are 654 steps to get to the top. After lunch, visit the Guatapé reservoir on an hour boat tour.

Transfer to the airport. Upon arrival to the Cartagena airport a representative will be waiting for you to offer you the transfer to Ananda Hotel Boutique.
After your transfer and drop of luggage start with a panoramic view of the city from the Monasterio and Iglesia de La Popa. Constructed in 1606 this church and monastery are located at a height of 140masl from where one can enjoy 360º views of the city and the sea as well as the port zone. Continuing to the San Felipe fortress. It was built on San Lázaro hill to defend the city from pirate attacks. Walk around the fortress and the tunnels and learn how the castle was constructed. Then, go on to the Ciudad Vieja (old city) to visit the Convent and Church of the San Pedro Claver compound. Lastly, head to the handicrafts zone of the Bovedas.

Overnight: Ananda Hotel Boutique

All day excursion by boat to the Archipiélago del Rosario, located approximately one hour from Cartagena. The national park is ringed by coral reefs and lapped by clear blue waters and is the habitat for a large variety of marine fauna. Free time for snorkeling and relaxation.
